Pastors and praying friends,
you so much for your continued prayers and support. We are honoured
to serve God with you here. Here are some things to tell you more
about the culture in Bosnia.
- Drinking Coffee:
Coffee drinking here is not so much about the beverage as it is
about spending time with people and having fellowship. If you
are a guest in someone’s home and you drink your coffee fast you
are saying that you really don’t want to spend time with them.
If you drink your coffee slowly you are saying that you want to
spend time with them.
- One of the places
people visit in order to get good luck is The Tomb of the Seven
Brothers. It is a wall of tombs for seven men who died for their
faith. People will walk by and at each opening they will give a
little money and pray. After proceeding down the seven openings
they go around the building to the right to the street there.
Depending what sound they hear first, crying baby, music, etc,
they will either receive something good or bad as a result. It
is a sad result without Christ.
- We also had a great
week of classes this week. This week we did a lot of review over
the many things that we have learned over the last eight months.
It is a great encouragement to see how much we have learned.
There is definitely a lot more we need to learn and our mistakes
are still many but things are definitely improving.
