At Ambassador Baptist Church, our desire is to fulfill Christ's Great Commission throughout Pittsburgh and the entire world. We have tried to develop a program that will minister to all age groups and to people at all areas of spiritual development.

Part of this program is to return to the concept of Sunday being the Lords Day (Rev. 1:10). It is our goal to use Sunday as a day when we learn together, fellowship together, and serve together (Eph 4:12-16).

~ Sunday Events ~
9:45 AM
Sunday School
We have Sunday School classes for all ages. Currently we have 2 adult Sunday school classes: Auditorium and Ladies. The auditorium class is studying "Isaiah". Since one of the goals of the believer is to know his Savior better (Phil 3:10), this would be an excellent opportunity to begin accomplishing that objective.
11:00 AM
Morning Service
In the Morning service we are currently doing a series in"Small Books". This is a time of singing, Scripture reading, prayer, music, and most importantly, preaching the Word of God.
Noon
Fellowship Luncheon
This is an occasion for the congregation to spend some time together enjoying each other's company. Most Christians get far too little fellowship with other believers, and this gives us an opportunity to get to know one another, share burdens and praises, and grow together in the Lord as the Body of Christ.
1:15 PM
Afternoon Service
Again, this is a time to gather together as a church body around the preaching of the Bible. In the afternoon our series is "The Life of Christ".
2:30 P.M. -- Ministry

This is a chance for the church to put its faith into practice. There are numerous areas of ministry, including visitation, evangelistic mailings, missionary care packages, Bearing Precious Seed Scripture collation, and other outlets for service. The whole church is encouraged to stay. A nursery and child care will be available for those who might need it.

Our visitation program is a time when we as a church can come together and go out together to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to our community. Sometimes visits are made to those who have visited the church recently, or to those who have not been faithful in their attendance. Other visits are geared towards a door-to-door attempt to evangelize the city. We believe this helps us fulfill Christ's command to
"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

Rescue Mission Service

Personal Discipleship

We believe in the importance of studying the Word of God outside of the church as well as during the regular services. We offer a personal Bible Study entitled "The A. B. C's of Christian Growth". Someone will be happy to meet with you to do these studies either in your home, or in theirs, or even at the church.
Thursday, 7:00 PM
Midweek Prayer Meeting
and Bible Study

This is a time intended to help the believer grow in his relationship with the Lord. Part of the service involves sharing prayer requests and then spending time on our knees before God. The remaining time is used for Bible study with much participation by the congregation. Thursday night Bible study is entitled "Psalms".

In addition, we also have a Kid's Bible Club that meets at 7:00 on Thursdays.

Western Pennsylvania Theological Institute

We will be starting our 18th year of classes on Thursday, September 10th. As of now we will be offering only one course live, which will be Parables, and that class will run from 8:30-10:30 PM on Thursdays. This class will be available on site or through Google Hangouts. We still have many other past courses available via audio, and a few on video that can be accessed at any time.

For more information, or to sign up for the livestream, please contact Pastor Montgomery at ambassador.montgomery@gmail.com, or at 412-477-3210."

Block classes contain the same material as regular classes, but move a little faster because they were completed in one week rather than one semester. All courses were taught by me unless otherwise noted. The cost is $50/course if it is being taken for credit, but there is no charge for those who simply want to learn more about the Bible. We have had seven different colleges accept our credits for transfer, another which said that it would accept them if asked to, and another which is currently evaluating our credits but has not gotten back to me.

If we can be a blessing or help to you or to someone that you know, or if you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. We are trying to help as many folks as we can learn more about the Scriptures so that they can be even better servants for our Lord.

If you are interested in WPTI, please follow the links listed below for further information. You may also contact Pastor Mark Montgomery at 412-477-3210 or at ambassador.montgomery@gmail.com.

Of course, this does not cover all of the programs of the church. Each year brings Revival meetings and a Mission's Conference. Picnics, banquets, and fellowships occur on a regular basis. And there is always the opportunity to get involved in the work of the ministry.

To assist you in your personal Bible reading, we offer the devotional guide "Feature", which is put out by the Fundamental Evangelistic Association.

If you have questions or comments about our programs, please contact us. If you are ever in the area, we hope that you will stop by and visit with us.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

The Bible Plan of Salvation

(How you can know from the Bible that you are going to Heaven)

All Men Are Sinners

No matter how moral a man may be, God's Word clearly says that he comes short of God's Righteousness.
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

All Are Under the Penalty of Sin

The ultimate penalty for sin is death, or separation from God forever in the lake of fire.
"For the wages of sin is death...." Romans 6:23
"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15

Christ Died to Pay the Penalty For Sin

God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to Die in your place on the cross. As your substitute, He took your penalty, your sin, and your Hell on Himself.
"But God commended His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. " Romans 5:8

Salvation is Offered Free

Christ purchased salvation with His blood on the cross, and offers it as a free gift. A gift is not yours until you receive it.
"... The gift of God is eternal life..." Romans 6:23

Christ Must Be Received for Eternal Life

"But as many as received him to them gave He power to become the sons of God..." John 1:12
Behold, I stand at the door and knock, If any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him and he with me." Revelation 3:20
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
If you will receive Christ by calling upon Him to come into your life and give you eternal life, believing that He will save you as the Bible says, Christ will come into your life at that very moment and save you. Just make that decision now, and call upon Christ, "Lord Jesus, I receive you now as my Savior, the one who died for all my sins; come into my heart and save me and give me eternal life. "

The Final Steps

After receiving Christ, you will want to take these steps to grow in Christ:
  1. Let us know, that we can rejoice with you, and offer further help.
  2. Publicly profess you faith in Christ at a Bible-believing church (Matthew 10:33)
  3. Pray and study God's Word (II Tim.2:15)
  4. Be immersed and join a Bible-believing church (Matthew 28:19,Acts 2:41).
