| Question:
How do you feel about a women keeping silent in the church? Do you have them ask their husbands at home or can they openly ask questions?

Response:
I do allow women to ask questions in church. Some may see this as a violation of I Cor. 14:34. I believe that verse is referencing speaking in tongues, for that is the context in which it appears. The whole subject of when and where women are allowed to speak is difficult to determine. I Tim 2:11-12 indicates that women are not to teach when taking authority over a man. I Cor. 11: 5 gives a woman the right to both pray and prophesy. I have considered not allowing women to ask questions, but thus far I have not come to that conclusion, perhaps because we have so many young Christians in the church, and many women whose husbands could not answer their questions for them. I do try to take care to make sure that the women are asking out of a genuine desire to learn, and not out of an attempt to take control of the class. To attempt to control the class through questions would be something that a woman would not be allowed to do Scripturally.
